Outdoor Experiences for Youth

Fall + Winter Program

In a nutshell

A way to maintain the summer build up of youth energy and receive volunteer service hours throughout the year. Join The Fall + Winter Program in the following ways:

Monthly Events: We have monthly events throughout the year in stewardship, community involvement and recreation. Some past events include serving breakfast to guests at the Surrey Urban Mission and Christmas dinner to guests at Oppenheimer Park, planting trees at Beacher Creek in Burnaby and building our community garden at BCIT, and snowshoeing on Mount Seymour.

CTS Youth Council: The CTS YC meets monthly from September through June and works towards putting on at least one public event annually. This year's event: the CTS 2nd Annual Amazing Race at Burnaby Lake Regional Park on June 8. Planning still in progress. The YC is open to all youth all the time with meeting locations changing monthly to accommodate as many of you as possible. More info here

Ubuntu Team: New in 2011, the youth-led Ubuntu Team works in partnership with youth from Comfort the Children International in Maai Mahiu, Kenya. We celebrate Ubuntu Day with Kenya every July via skype and are currently working to create youth bonds across the seas and raise funds to start CTS-like programming in Kenya. What a team!

Where we're at

Throughout Metro Vancouver, depending on the event

Who we are

We are youth from all backgrounds!

Participants: 12 - 18 years old
Just call or email us to take part in any or all of the great programming and volunteer opportunities we have to offer throughout the year.

How we do it

We are 100% funded. That's right. Thanks to our many generous funders and supporters who believe in what we do, we have been able to deliver the CTS experience to youth from the Metro Vancouver area free of charge for the past eleven years. Let's cross our fingers for at least that many more!

And we partner with many community and park groups who provide our youth with a variety of  volunteer opportunities within their own backyards.  Like we said, it's all about working together and getting actively involved!
