C3 Conference on Climate Change

Hey CTSers

Passionate about the environment - here is a chance to attend a great climate change conference for youth!

Windermere Secondary students are busily organising our eighth annual C3 Conference (Climate Change Conference) at Windermere Secondary School on Dec 5, 2016.  We are very excited to confirm registration is now open with  our two keynotes confirmed: Grand Chief Stewart Phillip, who has served as the President of the Union of BC Indian Chiefs since 1998.  He has been a strong opponent of projects such as the Kinder Morgan pipeline and Site C dam and strong voice for First Nations communities across BC.  We are also excited to have Anjali Appadurai join us.  Anjali has long been involved in the world of social and environmental advocacy. Her work has specialized in the intersection of international environmental governance and social movements, and she has worked as an activist, campaigner and strategic communicator at a local and international level around issues of climate change and environmental governance.  we have an excellent lineup of speakers and workshops  including Greenpeace, Sean Devlin, Dogwood initiative and many more.  I will be sending 3-4 posters (attached) to VSB schools.  If anyone else would like posters let me know and please feel free to share this event with others.

Registration for this event is now open at c3vancity.com.

In addition, if you are interested we will have student representatives visit your school to promote the event to Social Studies, Enriched Social Studies or any other classes that may be interested. If you have any questions or would like a presentation at your school please contact me at 604 713 8180 or vcastilho@vsb.bc.ca.

Thanks
